Greetings!
First off, I want to thank each and every one of you for supporting Melrose Night. Melrose Night has been ongoing for about 1.5 years now. The success is owed entirely to all the stores and food trucks who have been collaborating together to bring Angelenos back to the historically poppin’ Melrose Avenue.
Some of you know me, some not at all. One-and-one-half years ago, as a fiancee of one of the store owners on Melrose Avenue, called SURU, I thought it would be a good idea to bring a monthly event like Abbot Kinney’s First Friday to Melrose Avenue. I witnessed Abbot Kinney grow tremendously in traffic with the collaboration of the shops and food trucks. Many of the store owners on Melrose Avenue agreed that the street needed something new to bring traffic back to the area. Therefore, I walked from store-to-store to muster support for Melrose Night, then connected the store owners with my contacts in the food truck industry. Since then, Melrose Night has continued to grow in popularity.
However, I’ve become increasingly busy for the past year, and thus have not been able to focus my attention on this monthly event. Melrose Night deserves so much more!
Luckily, I found someone who I have confidence will bring Melrose Night to new levels of success. Gabby Valenzuela, owner of My Closet Italia on Melrose Avenue, will take over Melrose Night after May 5, 2012. Gabby has been an ardent supporter of the Melrose community, which along with her strong creative mind, will make the monthly event wonderful.
It’s been most rewarding to witness the increasing enthusiasm from store owners, food trucks, the neighborhood, and the Los Angeles community. Thank you for giving me such happiness during my time with Melrose Avenue!
Melrose Night will continue to be a non-profit monthly event for the Angelenos to look forward to every First Thursday. Please send all e-mails henceforth to: info@melrosenight.com
Thank you very much for all of your support.
Sincerely,
Heidi
